Glacial acetic acid (pure substance), namely anhydrous acetic acid, acetic acid is one of the important organic acids and organic compounds. Pure acetic acid will freeze into ice crystal when it is lower than the melting point, so anhydrous acetic acid is also called glacial acetic acid. Acetic acid, about 30%, is liquid at room temperature. The content of glacial acetic acid is more than 98%, which can be regarded as pure acetic acid. This kind of acetic acid is liquid when it is higher than 14 ℃. It is solid when it is lower than 14 ℃. Its appearance is very similar to ice, so it is called glacial acetic acid. Even if there is no freezing weather in the north, we should pay attention to antifreeze.
Uses: mainly used in the synthesis of vinyl acetate, acetate fiber, acetic anhydride, acetate, metal acetate and haloacetic acid.
